Worry Not

WORRY NOT

Stumble not into another day of hopeless worrying

Humble yourself not with crying

Work not with anxiety

Reward is God’s providential surety

Though now in pain

It won’t be in vain

If in Jesus Christ you trust

Upon Him yourself thrust

Kept you will be by faithfulness eternal

Untouched by malicious infernal

Floods of today’s problems

Winds of current needs but emblems

God’s timely lure

Prove His wisdom sure

Seek His kingdom and righteousness first

For Him hunger and thirst

Daily necessities will be added to you

Let nothing worry you.

Whats In A SIN...

WHAT’S IN A SIN …

…Should Not Deceive Anyone or Be Ignored Because, Though There May Be Pleasure in Sin, There’s Hidden Sorrow & Agony!
Consider this a gentle reminder with simplicity! I take it for granted that everyone knows what sin is. What may be different from person to person is in the way we perceive it, as in size/magnitude, degree/level, and circumstances. This, however does not change sin’s essential nature and effect, much less change God’s eye-view and his response to it. The Bible is crystal-clear about that. Right from beginning Genesis 3v14; 19v15; Leviticus 5v17; through the prophets Isaiah 5v18; Lamentations 3v39; 4v22; Amos 1v9; across into the NT Matthew 25v46; Romans 6v23; Ephesians 5v6; 2Thessalonians 1v9; 1John 3v4; Jude 1v7; to the end Revelation 2v22.  What makes many people yield or fall is a departure from and failure for such serious reflection or consideration. To be still and perhaps ask, “What really is in sin and what does it lead to? What will be the effect?” Sin begets sin. We ought to avoid it at any cost; never even entertain it. God simply commands, “sin not”! Exodus 20v20; Psalm 4v4; 1Corinthians 15v34; 1Jn 2v1.

“…YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH YOU…” – A Glance at Hope Ministry

“…AND WHENEVER YOU WANT, YOU CAN DO GOOD FOR THEM.” Mar 14v7

Casting Crowns sung a contemporary conscience-awakening and heart-searching song in which pertinent questions are asked specifically to Christians. Some lines go something like, “If we are the body, why aren’t his arms reaching; why aren’t his hands healing; why aren’t his words teaching? And if we are the body, why aren’t his feet going; why is his love not showing them there’s a way?” It makes one feel ashamed for not doing as much as they, or their ministry, should be doing. There are times when it hurts to be associated with Hope Ministry, especially if you were chairperson, because of its average or below performance (and that’s a personal assessment). I penned a poem about the poor and it’s placed at the end and this drawing is by talented Sunday Bwalya, a third year University of Zambia student of Economics and member of Hope.

However, every member of Hope Ministry (one of the evangelising ministries of Kabwata Baptist Church) would attest that every visit to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Children’s Cancer Ward is uniquely interesting and fulfilling.
